2025, what a year. I did manage to write a recap post of my sewing last year, so I’m ready to make it a tradition. After all, two years in a row would be something. Right now, at the end of December, it feels like I had no personal sewing time at all. This is obviously not true, as you’ll see a good bunch of things I made during the year listed below.

2025, qué año. Conseguí escribir una entrada de resumen sobre mis proyectos del año pasado, así que estoy lista para convertirlo en una tradición. Total, dos años seguidos sería todo un logro. Ahora, a finales de diciembre, siento que no he tenido tiempo para coser nada de lo mío. Obviamente, esto no es verdad, como podrás ver en la lista de cosas que he hecho durante el año.

Using the tradition of wearing red underwear on New Year’s Eve as an excuse (which supposedly brings luck for the year ahead, at least according to the Spanish, hehe), I’ve also been offering red lace kits in my online shop for the past few years . While making the sample with one of this year’s kits, I realized I’d like to have all these photos in one place. And what better place than right here on the blog, where I can give you the details about each pair.

Con la excusa de la tradición de llevar la ropa interior roja en Nochevieja (que supuestamente trae suerte para el año siguiente), llevo también unos años ofreciendo kits de encaje rojo en mi tienda online. This autumn I’ve been busier than ever (I always say that, but now I really think I’ve beaten my personal record). Besides everything that comes with the start of the school year and projects like launching the online course about lingerie, I also signed myself up as a student for Asun Domínguez’s patternmaking course. That’s right, I love to make my life easy, haha. I want to write about this experience here on the blog because it’s been one of the most valuable courses I’ve attended in my professional career, and I’d like to leave a record of these months here as a sort of diary.

Este otoño he estado más liada que nunca (siempre lo digo, pero ahora sí que creo que he batido mi récord personal). Aparte de todo lo que conlleva el comienzo del curso en la escuela y los proyectos como el lanzamiento del curso online de lencería, me apunté yo como alumna al curso de patronaje de Asun Domínguez. Así es, me va la marcha, jaja. Quiero escribir aquí en el blog sobre esta experiencia, porque ha sido una de las formaciones más valiosas que he tenido en mi carrera profesional y me gustaría dejar aquí en este espacio también un recuerdo a modo de diario de estos meses.

Pressing is a super important part of sewing practice, and the extra time (and patience) you’ll take when doing it, will be worth it. There are a couple of easy and cheap tools/solutions related to pressing I’d like to point out. In case you’re not using them yet, I’d highly suggest you to try them out as I’ve found them very useful while I’ve been out there doing sewing stuff (read: commiting mistakes and ocasionally burning stuff, something that happens while you’re out there…sewing).

Hay un par de herramientas/soluciones fáciles y baratas relacionadas con el planchado que me gustaría compartir. Si aún no las utilizas, te recomiendo que las pruebes, ya que me han resultado muy útiles mientras he estando cosiendo por allí (lee: cometiendo errores, con alguna que otra cosilla quemada en el camino…cosas que pasan cuando estás por allí, cosiendo).

Today I’m bringing you a new tutorial about sewing lingerie! A good option to try something new using your favorite undies pattern is to add narrow stretch lace trims. These trims come in different widths, the most common one I use for this method is usually 2-3 cm wide. The trim can have a scalloped edge or it can have a straight edge on both sides. The method for sewing it is the same, and I'll explain it below.

Hoy os traigo un tutorial de lencería nuevo. Una forma de dar un toque diferente a las bragas de punto es usar puntillas elásticas. Son puntillas que pueden tener diferentes anchos, el ancho más común de puntilla que suelo usar para este método suele ser de 2-3 cm. Pueden tener un borde con ondas o también las hay rectas en ambos laterales. El método para coserlas es el mismo y te lo cuento debajo.

When it comes to sewing panties, there’s a wide variety of materials you can use. The most important factor is elasticity, as these patterns are specifically designed for stretchy fabrics. Here’s a breakdown of suitable fabrics, starting with knits and moving on to lace.

Puedes usar un montón de materiales diferentes para coser bragas, te cuento primero sobre las telas de punto y luego sobre los encajes. El factor más importante es la elasticidad. La tela que uses tiene que ser elástica porque los patrones están hechos para telas elásticas y no para telas sin elasticidad.

For me, the three that stand out the most are Julián López, Ribes i Casals, and Tejidos Paredes. Each one is different and has its own charm, so I’ll tell you what to look for in each place.

It’s about time, I’d say. After nine years of blogging, and probably thirteen years of buying fabrics in Madrid, I’m finally writing a post about fabric stores, haberdasheries, and places to buy yarn in Madrid. I’ve written similar posts about Barcelona and Porto, but I didn’t have one for Madrid. Don’t ask me why… but I’m here to change that.

Ya fue la hora, digo yo. Después de nueve años de este blog, y de probablemente después de unos trece años de comprar telas en Madrid, por fin escribo una entrada sobre las tiendas de telas, las mercerías y sitios para comprar lanas de Madrid. Llegué a escribir las mismas entradas sobre Barcelona y Oporto, pero no tenía la de Madrid. No me preguntes por qué…pero estoy aquí para ponerle remedio al asunto.
